Virginia Water Well Association

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

The Virginia Water Well Association (VWWA) was established in June, 1949. The purposes, as set forth in the Association’s original Constitution, are as relevant today as they were in 1949:

  • To put the water well drilling business in the Commonwealth of Virginia on a thoroughly scientific and businesslike basis;
  • To maintain an organization to assist, promote, encourage and support the interests and welfare of the water well drilling industry within the Commonwealth of Virginia;
  • To foster, aid and promote scientific education, standards, research and techniques in order to improve methods of drilling;
  • To promote and encourage harmony and cooperation between the members and governmental agencies relative to the proper development and protection of the underground water supplies of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and,
  • To advance the mutual interests of those engaged in the water well industry in their own and the public welfare.

The Virginia Water Well Association is dedicated to helping water well contractors meet the challenges of the twenty first century. In the coming decades, the water well industry will undergo drastic changes in response to growing concern over ground water supply, quantity and quality. In addition, the technology used in well construction is changing at an ever more rapid pace. The Virginia Water Well Association stands ready to help the men and women engaged in the water well construction industry meet these challenges.
