In June, the National Ground Water Association sent the following letter to leadership in Congress urging them to support water well infrastructure in an upcoming infrastructure bill advancing through congress. In particular, the NGWA is hoping to increase eligibility of grant funding for water well rehabilitation, deepening, and replacement in rural and disadvantaged areas.
By supporting water well infrastructure in Congress, we will:
- Save homeowners and federal, state, and local governments millions of dollars in costly public water system repairs and connections.
- Push back local mandatory-hook up laws by giving homeowners more options to source their water.
- Increase water quality and efficiency in small and rural communities across the country.
As an Affiliate State organization, the VWWA supported the letter and became a signee.
